Walter Douglas Mccallum

Palatka, FLMr. Walter Douglas McCallum, son of James Butler and Agnes Meador McCallum, passed away December 21, 2011 at Haven Hospice in Palatka, Florida.A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, December 26, 2011 at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, SC.Doug was born June 23, 1926 at home on Federal Point in Putnam County, Florida.He graduated from Hastings High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.His family is especially grateful for the devoted care he received from the staff of Melrose County Manor, Melrose, Fl. where he resided for the last years of his life.He is survived by his sister-in-law, Margaret Thomson McCallum (widow of his brother James) and a nephew James Meredith McCallum and his wife Polly of Palatka, Florida; two nieces, Catherine McCallum and Jane McCallum Robbins and her husband John of Chester, SC; and a great-nephew and great-niece, Andrew McCallum and Megan McCallum if Jacksonville, Florida.
