Walter Eugene Bigger

Mr. Walter Eugene Bigger, 77, died Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at First Baptist Church Chester with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating. Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at First Baptist Church Chester. Mr. Bigger was born May 28, 1945 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Douglas M. Bigger and Emma Dickey Bigger. He was a 1965 graduate of Chester High School where he played football and in 1963 they were State Football Champions. He retired from SCDOT with over 30 years of service as District Utility Coordinator. Gene enjoyed golf and dining out with friends and family. He is survived by two daughters, Susan Strange Anderson of Chester, SC and Angela Elizabeth Strange of Rock Hill, SC; three grandsons, Clyde Thomas Zoubian of Carlsbad, NM ,Sarkis Jacob Zoubain of Washington, DC and Leonard Glenn Anderson of Trenton TX; one sister, Emma Lisa Bigger of Nashville, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jewell Crain Strange Bigger and his granddaughter Elyse Ann Anderson.
