Blackstock Mrs. Shirley Mae Collins Rucker, 84, died Friday, December 27, 2019, at her home.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 30, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Chester with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating.Interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, December 29, at First Baptist Church in the social hall. Mrs. Rucker was born November 9, 1935 in Charlotte, NC and was a daughter of the late Perkins Collins and Dakota Melton Collins.She was a graduate of Chester High School and Baptist College of Nursing in Columbia, SC where she received her RN.She retired from Chester County Hospital having worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years.Mrs. Rucker was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church where she worked in the church library.She also was a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She is survived by one daughter, Billie Shirl Loving (Greg) of Blackstock; one son, Brian Rucker (Catherine) of Columbia; one grandson, Hamp Loving of Chester; and a great granddaughter, Chalalee Loving of Blackstock.Mrs. Rucker was preceded in death by her husband, James Hampton“Bill” Rucker.
