CHESTER, SC: Mrs. Helen Ruth Crosby Craig, 83, died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at her home.The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PMSunday, September 24, 2017 at West Side Baptist Church. The funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday, September 24, 2017 at West Side Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Fowler officiating.Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Born January 12, 1934 in Chester, SC, Mrs. Craig was a daughter of the late Major Albert Crosby and Leila Worthy Crosby. She attended the schools of Chester County and worked with Chester Sportswear until their closing and later retired from Wal-Mart.Mrs. Craig was a member of West Side Baptist Church where she formerly worked in the nursery. She is survived by her husband of over Sixty-six years, Clifford V. Craig, Sr. ; one son, Rev. C. Vernon Craig, Jr. and his wife Karen of Gaffney, SC; two daughters, Denise C. Stewart and her husband David of Chester, SC and Anita C. Barrett and her husband John of Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren, Cliff Craig, Michael Craig, Katie Gulledge, Becky Hickson, Jason Stewart, Lee Ann Alderman and Dana Barrett; nine great grandchildren and one brother, Bobby Crosby of Rock Hill, SC.Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by her six brothers and five sisters.
