Robert H. "Bobby" Orr

CHESTER, SC: Mr. Robert H. “Bobby” Orr, 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Kershaw Health in Camden, SC. Bobby was born January 29, 1930 in Chester, South Carolina to Robert and Agnes (McGarity) Orr.Bobby attended Clemson College and was a member of the United States Army. For many years he managed Robert Orr’s Incorporated in both Chester and Great Falls.During those years he developed an interest in law enforcement and served as magistrate in the Hazelwood district. Thereafter, he served as Chester County Sheriff for sixteen years. “Sheriff Orr” also enjoyed gardening, photography and attended church regularly. Bobby is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Lindsay Orr;his daughter Beth McFadden and her husband Clyde; his son Lindsay Orr and his wife Kim; his granddaughter Logan Orr; his two brothers Hugh Wylie and Leslie Orr (Bonnie); his sister Lenore Branham (William Lee) and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.Bobby was a loving father, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend to all. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Orrs Baptist Church in Chester.Funeral services for Bobby will be at Orrs Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Saturday, 20, 2016 with Reverend Randall Runion officiating.Bobby will be laid to rest at the Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church cemetery in Chester.
