Chester, SC: Robert Harold Melton, 84, died Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Chester MUSC. The family has chosen to have a private service. Mr. Melton was born April 26, 1936 in Chester, SC a son ofthe late William Melton and Leola Love Melton. He was a graduate of Chester County Schools, USC and Clemson. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and the SCANG.Mr. Melton was retired with York County Correctional Facility. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Porter Melton and is survived by his daughter, Marsha Ernandez (Leon) of Edgemoor, SC; three sons, Robert Harold Melton (Titia) of The Netherlands, Nathan Todd Melton of Chester, SC and William Aaron Melton (Brook) of Fort Lawn, SC; nine grandchildren, three sisters, Lillie Friendly, Dot Wattenbarger (Garland) and Margaret Mobley all of Chester, SCand numerous nieces and nephews.
