Richard Bailey Knight

Chester:Richard Bailey Knight, 61, died Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 15, 2014 at Purity Presbyterian Church with Reverend Trey Hegar and PastorEdward Jeter officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Knight was born in Chester, SC on March 28, 1953 and was a son of the late Harry Hawkins Knight and Mary Elizabeth Durham Knight. He was a graduate of Chester High School and attended Lenoir-Rhyne College. Mr. Knight was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church and was retired from Chemtrade Logistics as a lab technician. He was also a member of the Chester Shag Club and the local basketball alumni of Chester. Mr. Knight is survived by his wife Parthenia “Tina” Means Knight; four children, Antonio Worthy (Monica) of Ridgeway, SC, Keshia Williams (Adrian) of Blair, SC, Michael Worthy (Sheila) of Chester, SC and Brian Smith of Fayetteville, NC; ten grandchildren, one sister, Penny Moore (George) of Chester, SC ; his sisters-in-law, brothers- in- law and nieces and nephews.
