Mr. Perry Dover Bailey, 81, died Friday, August 6, 2021.The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. David Sharrai officiating.The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors and Masonic Rites.The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 11 at Barron Funeral Home. Born in Rock Hill, SC, Mr. Bailey was the son of the late Perry Alonzo and Victoria Smith Bailey.He was a high school graduate through the GED program.He was retired from the United States Army as a Command Sergeant Major having served three tours in Vietnam.He was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church.Mr. Bailey was a member of the Chester DAV Chapter #19 for over seventeen years where he was treasurer for over twelve years and then becoming treasurer emeritus . He was also a driver for the Chester DAV, transporting veterans to and from the Dorn VA hospital in Columbia, SC.He was also a member of Sandy River Masonic Lodge #207 and Hejaz Shrine.He was a member and past president and treasurer of the Chester Shrine Club. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-seven years Elfriede Holly Bailey; two sons, William “Bill” Bailey (Della) of Chester, SC and Brian L. Bailey (Jackie) of Chester, SC; two grandsons, William David Bailey of Chester, SC and Logan B. Bailey (Samantha) of Winfield, AL and cousin Melvin Smith (Elsie) of Lexington, SC.
