Chester Mrs. Penney Ann Johnson Hollis, 65, died Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.Due to Covid-19, all services will be private. Mrs. Hollis was born August 16, 1954 in Chester, SC, and was a daughter of the late Robert W. Johnson, Sr. and Charlene McKay Johnson.She was a graduate of Chester High and York Tech.Mrs. Hollis worked as an LPN for several years before she dedicated herself to the care of her disabled daughter.She was very committed to the Girl Scouts, in addition to being a swim lesson instructor and a children’s tutor.Mrs. Hollis was an active member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church where she was a youth group leader, Sunday School Teacher, and special speaker. She is survived by her husband of over 46 years, Richard Hollis; two children: Fran Hollis of Chester and Thad Hollis (Wife Marissa) of Elizabeth City, NC; three sisters: Tracey Mobley (Husband Keith), Teresa Sprinkle, and Patricia Johnson-Bates (Husband Mike), all of Chester; one brother, Robert W. Johnson, Jr. (“Bobby”) (Wife Jennifer) of Chester; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mrs. Hollis was preceded in death by her brother, David Johnson.
