Mr. Michael David Martinez, 56, fell asleep on September 15, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center Main in Charlotte, NC.A recognition service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Roman Steciw officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Barron Funeral Home. The interment will be private. Born June 18, 1957 in Casper, Wyoming, Mr. Martinez was the son of Mike A. and Mary Chavez Martinez of Las Vegas.He was a graduate of Valley High School in Las Vegas, Nevada and Montreat College, Charlotte, NC.Mr. Martinez was a retired twenty-four and half year veteran of the US Navy Submarine Service having served during Desert Storm.He was a member of The Way International.Mr. Martinez was a passionate teacher with great attention to detail and care for every person he mentored.He was presently employed with PAVESTONE as their national maintenance manager. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of thirty-one years Sharon Pappas Martinez; twin daughters, Meghan Nicole of Bowling Green, Ohio and Michelle Evon Martinez of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Rachel Martinez and Victoria M. and her husband Sean Doak all of Las Vegas, Nevada and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Martinez.
