Michael Derrick Laws

Mr. Michael Derrick Laws, 42, died Monday, July 31, 2023. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Friday, August 4, 2023 at Barron Funeral Home. Mr. Laws was born August 22, 1980 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Donald Ervin Laws, Sr., and Doris Darby Laws. He was a graduate of Chester High School and was employed with 77 Auto as a salesperson. Mike enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, and golf as his hobbies. Many of his friends knew Mike affectionately as “Big Hungry”. Mike was a member of Saluda Street Church of God. He is survived by one brother, Donald “Pete” Laws (Anna) of Concord, NC; two nephews, Austin Laws of Concord, NC and Ean Laws of Concord, NC; ex-wife Jeanna Laws of Chester, SC; ex-wife, Stephanie Laws of Chester, SC; his step-children whom he loved as his own, Brayden and Xavier both of Chester, SC and Chrissy Ferrell (Trinity) of Great Falls, SC whom he loved as his own sister.
