Chester Mrs. Martha Carol Cox Watkins, 80, died Saturday, April 3, 2021, at her home.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at First Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Johnson officiating.Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 7, in the sanctuary of First Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Watkins was born March 13, 1941 in Franklinville, NC and was a daughter of the late Preston Avant Cox and Annie Louise Saunders Cox.She was a graduate of Franklinville High School, Franklinville, NC and was retired from Schlegel Corporation.Mrs. Watkins was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and also part of the Happy Stitchers.Carol enjoyed reading, word puzzles, sewing and crocheting.She loved her family most of all. She is survived by two children, Beth West (husband, Robbie) of Chester and Billy Watkins (wife, Lorrie) of St. Johns, FL; five grandchildren, Leanne Howze, Rob West, Elizabeth Frazer (Charles), Harrison Watkins and Avery West; three great grandchildren, Layla West, Will West and Nova Frazer; and one sister, Sandra Cox Bunting of Asheboro, NC.Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her husband, William H. “ Bill” Watkins; two brothers, Lacy Cox and Carlton Cox; one sister, Sue Cox Blackburn; and two great grandchildren, Treasure Rain and Nolan Ryan West.
