Loretta Dover of New Tazewell, Tennessee passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 83. She was born, raised, and lived most of her life in South Carolina. Loretta was an amazing stay at home Mom to four children for many years. Later, she became a nurse, receiving her associate degree from the University of South Carolina. Loretta practiced nursing in a variety of settings, including as an office nurse, surgical assistant, and emergency room nurse. She loved her patients and touched many lives during her long nursing career at Chester County Hospital in Chester, SC and at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, SC. Upon her retirement, Loretta moved to North Carolina to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. Loretta loved her family and God more than anything. Her family and her little dog, Buffy, filled her life with joy and happiness. She was a member of First Baptist Church, New Tazewell, TN and was thankful to God for walking with her throughout life. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dover; parents, Frank Ott and Lonnie Ruth Mowery; sister, Claudette Roberts; and brothers, Houston Ott and Frankie Ott. She is survived by her daughters Terri Campbell and Debra Lanning of New Tazewell, TN, and Jane Hunt (Joel) of Milton, FL; son, Joe Campbell (Mandy) of McConnell’s, SC; grandchildren, Joel A. Hunt (Sophie), Aubrey Shedd (Tyler), Jessica Campbell and Christopher Campbell; great grandchildren, Josephine Shedd and Adelaide Shedd; niece, Sherri Owen (Orin); nephew, Doug Ott (Psalmody). She is also survived by many other beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Loretta Dover at Barron Funeral Home on Thursday December 21 at 2 pm. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 pm.
