Joseph Banks “Buck” Graham, Jr, 77, died peacefully on Friday, January, 20, 2017at the Wayne T. Patrick House in Rock Hill, SC.He was born on November 28, 1939 in Chester, SC to Joseph “Banks” Graham and Cathryn “Sally” (Floyd) Graham Mitchell. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday,January 26, 2017 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester,SC 29706 with Reverend Michael Shaffer officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday January 26, 2017 from 2:00 until 3:00 pm prior to the service at Barron Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held in Old Purity Cemetery, Chester, SC. Buckgrew up in Chester, SC and graduated from Chester High Schoolin 1957. He was raised as a member of Purity Presbyterian Church.After high school he attended college at Clemson College in Clemson, SC where he received a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy.After college, he served as an officer in the United States Navy primarily on the U.S.S. Robinson. After his military service, Buck returned to Clemson University and received a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.He then began work as a civil engineer contractor for the military. In 1966, Buck married Margaret Rosemary Schweitzerin Philadelphia, PA . Buck was known for his quick wit, his story telling and his sense of humor and enjoyed having an audience of family, friends or complete strangers. He had a natural curiosity in a broad array of topics that served him well. Buck enjoyed traveling especially to the southwestern United States.He loved vintage car shows,outwitting the stock market on occasion,watching his beloved Clemson football,and throughout, enjoying the company of his wife of 50 years. You never saw one without the other. Buck was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Banks Graham and Cathryn Graham Mitchell. Buck is survived by his spouse Margie of Rock Hill, SC; his sister,Mai Carolyn Mumford of North Augusta, SC; and his brother William Floyd Graham of Chester, SC as well as his loving cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.
