CHESTER: Mr. Joseph Benjamin “Benny” Collins, 66, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-11:45 am Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Barron Funeral Home.A graveside service will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Brother Bill Humble officiating. Born September 20, 1950 in Chester County, SC, Mr. Collins was the son of the late Vaughn and Genola Ernandez Collins.He was a graduate of Lewisville High School and retired from the Essex Corporation.Benny was an avid gardener and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of over twenty-nine years, Frances Roof Collins; one step-son, James Robert “Robbie” Willard, Jr. and his wife Diane of Fort Lawn, SC; one step-daughter, Jamie Robin Allen and her husband Tom of Rock Hill, SC; two granddaughters, Caroline and Catherine Allen of New York, New York; and one sister, Judy Phillips and husband Claude of Honea Path, SC.He is preceded in death by three sisters, Janice Jones, Ann McMahan and Sue Owens and one brother, Edgar Collins.
