Freida Geneva Stewart Green, 93, died Friday, March 15, 2024, at Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 18, 2024, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Hinson officiating. The family will receive friends at Barron Funeral Home immediately following the service. Interment will be private. Mrs. Green was born May 29,1930 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late Richard Stewart and Emma Peay Stewart. She attended the schools of Chester County and was formerly employed with Springs Industries. She was also a caregiver to many in the community. Mrs. Green was a member of Saluda Street Church of God where she previously taught Sunday School. "Ginny", as she was known to her loving husband, was an avid seamstress, cake decorator and enjoyed craft work and word search puzzles. She is survived by one daughter, Rita Steele of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Bridget Green Cameron (Billy) of Chester, SC and Kris Robinson (Patti) of Grand Junction, CO; great grandchildren, Bailey Beasley (Tori) of Chester, SC, Brilee Beasley (Jubal) of Chester, SC and Adam Beasley of Chester, SC; great-great grandson, Briar Beasley of Chester, SC; and daughter-in-law, Linda Ivey (Russel) of Blackstock, SC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, William Ross Green, Sr.; a son, William Ross "Chip" Green, Jr.; an infant son; and a son-in-law, Melvin Steele.
