Florence Evelyn "Flo" Gearhart Ryan

Chester, SC:Florence Evelyn “Flo” Gearhart Ryan, 86, died Saturday, May 1, 2021 at her home. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Burgess officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the burial and other times at the home. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Ryan was born in Onslow County, NC on April 18, 1935 and was a daughter of the late Lee Gearhart and Floy Matthews Gearhart. She was a graduate of Swansboro High School in Onslow County, NC. Flo was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting and crafts and gardening. She was an avid gardener. Flo loved her family and her church. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was actively involved when she was able. She was also a girl scout leader in her earlier years. Mrs. Ryan was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Rich Ryan, Jr; her son, David Lee Ryan and her brother, James Gearhart. She is survived by two sons, Charles E. Ryan of Columbia, SC and Lewis Rich Ryan, III of McConnells, SC; her daughter, Evelyn Ryan of Hilton Head Island, SC; a granddaughter, Forrest Lee Ryan of Columbia, SC and several nieces and nephews.
