CHESTER, SC Mr. Ervin “Shorty” Connor, Jr., 88, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.The funeral service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Arthur Vick and Rev. Bryson Williams officiating.The interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm Tuesday, September 24 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and other times at the home of Becky and Don Reed, 1155 Dogwood Lane, Chester, SC. Born June 3, 1925 in Chester, SC, Mr. Connor was the son of the late James Ervin Connor and Susie Jo Thomas Connor.He attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries. Mr. Connor was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and attended Capers Chapel United Methodist Church.He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Caston Connor, one daughter, Angela Connor, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Becky C. Reed (Don) and Melanie C. Smith (Robbie) all of Chester; five grandchildren, Lisa Totherow, Kelly Brunet, Don Reed, II, Rob Smith and Erin Smith-Conrad; twelve great grandchildren, Kaycee, Hunter, Andrew, Jay, Reed, Sawyer, Madi, Kaegan, Waylon, Skylar, Braydon and Mason; two sisters, Mary “Coot” Williams and Frances Strait both of Chester.
