Eric Edward "Rick" Gerbers

Blackstock Mr. Eric Edward “Rick” Gerbers, 73, died Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at MUSC Lancaster, SC.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday August 29, 2020 at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service in the social hall of the church. Mr. Gerbers was born March 16, 1947 in Ft. Wayne, IN and was a son of the late Edward J.H. Gerbers and Evelyn Rediger Gerbers. He was a graduate of Chester High School and was retired from Duke Energy and was also employed with MUSC- Chester as a security guard and was a board member of S.C. Senior Sports Classic.Mr. Gerbers was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Korean War and Vietnam and was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife Carol Gerbers; two sons, Scott Gerbers (Angel) and Robbie Gerbers (Valarie) both of Blackstock, SC; four grandchildren, Casey Gerbers (Asia) of Yukon, OK, Jessica Dover of Denver, CO; Michaela Gerbers and Lane Gerbers both of Blackstock, SC; one great-granddaughter Jocalyn Gerbers of Yukon, OK; two sisters, Mary Anne Studler of Lubbock, TX and Letha Gerbers of Hendersonville, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.
