Donna Meredith Wood Wingate

Chester Mrs. Donna Meredith Wood Wingate, 69, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Piedmont Medical Center surrounded by her family.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 30, at Orrs Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Wightman, Rev. Randall Runion and Rev. Curtis Marshall officiating.Interment is private.The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the social hall of the church. Mrs. Wingate was born February 12, 1950 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late George Albert Wood and Betty Jourdan Wood Carpenter.She was a graduate of Chester High School.Mrs. Wingate was a homemaker and formerly employed in the textile industry.She was a member of Orrs Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.Donna was instrumental in the founding of Friends of the Animals and also Chester’s Arthritis Support Group. She is survived by her husband of more than 49 years, Ronnie Wingate; one son, Bradley David Wingate (Tim Judd) of Greenville, SC; one brother, Eddie Wood (Margie) of Columbia, SC; one sister, Ginny Wood West of Rock Hill, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
