Chester, SC: Curtis Charles Baker, 91, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 4, 2012 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Reverend Clay Waldrip officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Mr. Baker was born on November 29, 1920 in Chester, SC. He was the son of the late John Curtis Baker and Dessie Phillips Baker. He attended the schools of Chester County, was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II and was retired from Springs Industries Katherine Plant as a supervisor. Mr. Baker was a member of First Baptist Church, Chester. He is survived by his wife of over seventy-one years, Margaret T. Baker; one daughter, Carolyn Baker Nall of Smithfield, NC; two grandchildren, Anna Kate Nall of Smithfield, NC and Molly Nall Howard of High Point, NC; two great granddaughters, Gracie Howard and Anna Howard both of High Point, NC and one sister, Coleen Lucas of Great Falls.
