Chester Mr. Clarence Jefferson McWatters, 86, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Agape Senior in Rock Hill.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. John Porter officiating.Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday in the sanctuary of First Church of the Nazarene, 182 Pinckney St., Chester, SC and other times at the home, 822 Linden Dr., Chester, SC. Mr. McWatters was born February 23, 1929 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late David McWatters and Cicely Varnadore McWatters.He was a graduate of Chester High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Germany.Mr. Watters was retired as a loom fixer with Springs Industries.He was a very active member of First Church of the Nazarene where he formerly held a number of positions and volunteered wherever there was a need. He is survived by his wife of more than 61 years, Hazel Ivie McWatters; one daughter, Dewana Nealy (Jerry) of Lake Wateree; two grandchildren, Sarah Nealy Blanks of Edgemoor and Joshua Nealy of Reston, VA; two great-grandsons, Austin and Logan Blanks of Edgemoor; one brother, Donald McWatters (Cicely) of Chester; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mr. McWatters was preceded in death by a brother, Ambrose McWatters and two sisters, Aileen McMahan and Frances Bickett.
