Fort Lawn Mrs. Cheryl Dawn Lawing Morton, 56, died Thursday, August 1, 2019 at her home.A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 4, 2019 at First Baptist Church Richburg, 165 N. Main St. Richburg, SC, 29729 with Rev. Curtis Marshall and Rev. John Parris officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday, August 4, 2019 at First Baptist Church Richburg. Mrs. Morton was born May 26, 1963 in Whitmire, SC and was a daughter of Constance Cole Hicks and the late Edward Lawing Sr. She was a graduate of the schools of Anderson County, SC . Dawn was a homemaker who loved the outdoors, dogs, fishing and deer hunting. She attended First Baptist Church Richburg. She is survived by her husband of thirteen wonderful years; Jack “Jay” Morton III; one daughter, Michelle Brunet (Brad) of Fort Lawn, SC; step-children, Jason Morton and Nikki Morton both of Chester, SC, Kristy Willard ( Scotty) of Fort Lawn, Heather Morton, of Richburg, SC, Misty Morton of Great Falls, SC; one brother, Dale Lawing of Fort Lawn, SC; two nieces, Kimberly Lawing of Fort Lawn, SC and Ashley Bailey of Richburg, SC; thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one brother Dusty Lawing.
