Agnes Roberts Banks

Agnes Roberts Banks, 91, died Friday, October 1, 2010 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 4, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Chester with the Reverend Clay Waldrip officiating. Interment will be in Beaver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 8:00 P. M. Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Barron Funeral Home. Born in Blackstock, SC on February 17, 1919, Mrs. Banks was the daughter of the late J.E. and Jessie Wagers Roberts. She was a graduate of Blackstock High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Chester where she was a Sunday School Teacher, WMU Leader, nursery worker and served on the kitchen committee. Mrs. Banks was retired from Belk Department store as the Children?s Department Head. Mrs. Banks is survived by her husband of 64 years Charles McHenry Banks; two sons Charles M. Banks and wife Karen of Gaffney, SC and Michael W. Banks and wife Julia of Anderson, SC. one daughter Trudie B. Gilbert and husband Dale of Greenville, SC; one sister Kitty R. Wright of Seneca, SC; two brothers G.P. ?Press? Roberts and Kirk L. Roberts both of Chester, SC; Seven Grandchildren and six Great-Grandchildren.
