Wylie Ambrose Bass

CARLISLE, SC: Mr. Wylie Ambrose Bass, Sr., 88, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Chester Regional Nursing Center in Chester, SC. The funeral service will be Monday,5:00 PM March 14, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. David Sealy officiating and Pastor Charline Lanier. The interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Barron Funeral Home. Born June 25, 1927 in Chester County, SC, Mr. Bass was a son of the late John Joe Bass and Carrie Lou Feaster Bass. He attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Milliken Mills in Lockhart, SC. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Germany during WWII. Mr. Bass was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and artwork. He is survived by four daughters, Barbara Ann B Maloney of Rock Hill, SC, Sarah B. Walker of Union, SC, Carol B. Causey (Tim) of Carlisle, SC and Susie B. Thompson of Chester; one son, Wylie A. Bass, Jr. (Rose) of York, SC; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one sister, Sara Sistruck of Carlise, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
