CHESTER:Mrs. Winnie Carter Keenan,88, of Chester died Sunday February 21, 2010 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday February 23, 2010 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Reverend Donald Scoggins officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM Tuesday February 23, 2010 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC 29706. Born in Madison County, GA on June 27, 1922, Mrs. Keenan was a daughter of the late Howell Ernest Carter and Carria Pearl Whitworth Carter. She attended the schools of Madison County, GA, was retired from Springs Industries as a spinner and was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans and theVeterans of Foreign Wars. Mrs. Keenan was also a member of St. Paul?s Presbyterian Church and was the widow of Samuel Miller Keenan. Mrs. Keenan is survived by three sisters; Louise Keenan of Chester, SC, Shirley Moore and her husband Hunter of Cosby, TN and Marie Roberts and her husband Kirk of Chester, SC; one brother Ernest Carter and his wife Faye of Rock Hill, SC and several nieces and nephews.
