Chester Mrs. Wilma Ruth Steadings McAbee, 84, died Monday, September 18, 2017, at Chester Regional Medical Center.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Barron Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Vaughn and Rev. Roger Roof officiating.Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 21, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. McAbee was born July 5, 1933 in Spartanburg, SC and was a daughter of the late Leland Vess Steadings and Myrtle Snell Goins.She attended the schools of Chester County and was a homemaker.Mrs. McAbee was a member of Saluda Street Church of God where she was a former children’s Sunday School teacher. She is survived by two sons, William “Peanut” McAbee (Niawana) and Mike McAbee (Sheila) both of Chester; six grandchildren, Cody, Brian, Tommy, Matt, Michael and Keith; twelve great grandchildren, Brooks, Trent, Chase, Kendrick, Briana, Christopher, Steven, Layla, Hayley, Sydney, Cameron and Harper; one sister, Pauline Goins of Chester; a son-in-law, Claude Campbell of Chester; and her caregiver, whom she loved as her daughter, Ukisha Price of Chester.Mrs. McAbee was preceded in death by her husband, B.C McAbee and a daughter, Ann Campbell.
