William Gary Melton

Spartanburg, SC Mr. William Gary Melton, 59, died Monday, February 24, 2014 at his residence.A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Tessnier officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Born March 9, 1954 in Chester County, SC, Mr. Melton was the son of the late David L. and Mary Robbins Melton.He attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from the S.C. Department of Education as a mechanic.He was an avid NASCAR fan. Mr. Melton is survived by his wife of over eighteen years Dorothy “Dottie” Baker Melton; brother-in-law, Billy Baker of Chester; three sisters-in-law; Judy Clinton and Diann Ferrell both of Rock Hill, SC and Deborah Cameron and her husband Chuck of Chester and his mother-in-law, Betty C. Baker of Rock Hill, SC.Mr. Melton was preceded in death by his beloved dog “Rudy”. Memorials may be made to the Tate Memorial Baptist Church, 905 East Main Street, Pacolet, SC 29372
