Mr. William Eggleston ?Billy Joe? McDowell, died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, SC. The funeral Service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, February 15, 2010 at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Clint Davis and Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating. Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Born in Saluda County, SC, Mr. McDowell was a son of the late Joseph S. McDowell and Eva Hancock McDowell. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean War. Mr. McDowell was a member of Chester Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where he was a former Deacon and Chester Masonic Lodge #18.He was former owner and operator of the Chester Sealtest Milk Distributorship. He is survived by his Wife, Carolyn Parker McDowell; one daughter Susan McDowell Henderson and her husband David of Harrisburg, NC; one son, Mike McDowell of Lawrence, KS; two grandsons, Parker and Tyler Henderson of Harrisburg, NC and one sister Lona McDowell Taylor of Greenwood, SC. Mr. McDowell was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse McDowell. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Monday, February 15, 2010 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC 29706 and other times at their home.
