William Crawford (Bill) Lindsey, Jr., 79, died Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at his home on 961A Shallowbrook Drive, Chester, SC. A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2022, at Chester Freedom Ministries with Reverend Steve Bishop and Reverend Bill Stallings officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM prior to the service. Born November 9, 1942, in Chester, South Carolina; Mr. Lindsey was the son of the late William C. Lindsey Sr. and Doris Clinton Lindsey. Bill was a graduate of Chester High School and an Army veteran. He worked for Springs Industries for over 25 years. Mr. Lindsey also previously served as deacon, treasurer, and Sunday School teacher for Chester Freedom Ministries (formerly known as Second Baptist Church). Bill was an avid Clemson fan and Loyal Chester Cyclone fan. His loyal Cyclone Crew made sure he didn’t miss a home or away football game—even for this 2022 season. Bill’s family sincerely thanks his Cyclone family for allowing him the joy to experience his love for the game first-hand in these latter years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda McManus Lindsey; daughter, Melissa Ann Lindsey; and son, Timothy Wayne “Timmy” Lindsey. Bill is survived by his son, William Lindsey (Bonnie) and daughter, Gina Jordan (Thomas); both of Chester; son-in-law, Robert Wishert of Great Falls; granddaughter, Caroline Lindsey, grandsons, Liam and Bryce Lindsey, grandsons, Ryan Jordan (Megan) and Tyler Jordan (Krista); all of Chester; greatgrandson, Jase Jordan and great-granddaughter, Millie Jordan; both of Chester.
