Mr. William Walker “Skeeter” Hardin, 87, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at his home..A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Capers Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Lois Helms and Rev. Irvin Plowden officiating.The interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Born December 06, 1924 in Chester County, SC, Mr. Hardin was the son of the late Ernest T. Hardin and Ada Ferguson Hardin.He was a graduate of Chester High School class of 1943.He was retired from Chester County as a dispatcher, from SC National Guard with thirty-three years of service and also from the United States Postal Service as rural mail carrier.He was a member of Highland Ruritan Club, SC Cattleman’s Association, Young Farmers Club, Springs Golden Age Club and the Senior Fitness Program.Mr. Hardin was a lifelong member of Capers Chapel United Methodist Church.He was twice married, first to the late Maurice Connor Hardin and later to his present wife Barbara Binns Brantley Hardin. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Carol Lynne Rogers of Chester; one step-daughter, Charlene Robbie(George) of Roswell, GA; one step-son, Mitchell D. Brantley(Terrie) of Rocky Mount, NC and three grandchildren, Breanne Robbie and Alex Robbie of Roswell, GA and Zach Brantley of Rocky Mount, NC.
