William Charles Gladden

Mr. William Charles Gladden, Jr., 89, died Friday, July 29, 2011.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Richburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Jenkins, Rev. John Rumford, and Rev. Allen Derrick officiating.Interment will follow in Union cemetery.The family will receive friends following the burial at Union ARP Church. Mr. Gladden was born Nov. 3, 1921 in Richburg and was a son of the late William Charles Gladden, Sr. and Viola Ferguson Gladden.He was a graduate of Richburg High School, served in the U.S. Armyduring World War II, and was a member of Richburg United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife,Pauline McCorey Gladden, one son, William Charles Gladden, III and his wife Terry of Richburg; one sister, Janie Alexander of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Blake Thomas and his wife Amber of Orlando, Fl., Wade Thomas of Fort Mill, and Hollis McIntosh and her husband Will of Orlando, Fl.; five great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
