Chester Mr. William Carl “Bill” Curtis, Jr., 81, died October 2, 2018, in Rock Hill.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 5, 2018, at Lando Cemetery with Rev. Ricky McManus officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Thursday, October 4, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mr. Curtis was born March 3, 1937 in Lando, SC and was a son of the late William C. Curtis, Sr. and Nanzetta Irby Curtis.He attended the schools of Chester County, SC.Bill retired from Chester County as Corrections Supervisor and was formerly employed with Manetta Mills in Lando, SC, and a former member of Chester County Rescue Squad. He was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by three children Tyanne Odom (Ricky) of Chester, SC, William C. “Billy” Curtis, III (Donna) of Rock Hill, SC, and Michael “Kent” Curtis (Sylvia “Sam”) of Richburg, SC,; five grandchildren, Jack Curtis, Derrick Curtis, Ronnie Beck, Patrick Heckman, LeAnne Heckman; eight Great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Curtis of Benton, KY, Richard Curtis of PA and Joe Curtis of Richburg, SC; one sister, Lynn West, of Chester, SC. Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by his wife of over 47 years Orma Jean (Lathan) Curtis; two sons,John Anthony Downs and Myron Kelly Curtis; one sister Marilyn Varnadore; one brother, Jerry Curtis.
