CHESTER: Mr. William Claude Ashley, Jr. 71, of 1236 Great Falls Highway died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend John Porter and Reverend Bayliss Adimaro officiating. Interment will be private at a later date. A native of York County, Mr. Ashley was a son of the late William Claude Ashley, Sr. and Virginia Ashley. He was a graduate of Rock Hill High School anda retired carpenter with Page Construction. Mr. Ashley was an avid NASCAR fan and also enjoyed hunting and fishing and all types of carpentry. Surviving is one son, William C. Ashley III of Chester, SC, seven Granchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC 29706.
