Wesley Martin Rash

Chester Mr. Wesley Martin Rash, 83, died Saturday, May 28, 2022 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Mr. Rash was born February 9, 1939 in Nashville, GA and was a son of the late Walter Rash and Effie Taylor Rash. He was a graduate of Chester High School and attended Clemson College. Mr. Rash was retired from springs industries and also Kanawha Insurance. Wesley loved the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed bowling, golf, baseball and softball. He coached several little league teams and for the pony league. He was a member of Saluda Street Church of God. He is survived by three children, Darleen Rash Steen (Thomas), Tina Rash Guempel (Kliff) and Tim Rash all of Chester, SC; four grandchildren, Chase Steen (Chrissy) of Rock Hill, SC, Lindsey Smith (Jason) of Chester, SC, Travis Baxley (Joy) of Greer, SC and Larry Guempel (Samantha) of Chester, SC; six great-grandchildren, Keely Orr, Colt Smith, Maddox and Mason Steen, Silas Guempel and Baby Baxley on the way; one sister, Kathleen Scales of Chester, SC; sister-in-law Donna Ballard Sharp of Chester, SC and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 56 years Patsy Ballard Rash; one sister, Laura Rash Worthy.
