CHESTER, SC Mr. Wayne Dale “Slim” Roberts, Sr., 55, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Welch and Mr. Jimmy Roberts officiating.The interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home. Born September 23, 1957 in Chester County, Mr. Roberts was a son of the late Lonnie W. Roberts, Sr. and Mazie Elizabeth Thompson Roberts.He was a graduate of Chester High School and retired from the Essex corporation and also worked with Mesco.He attended Liberty Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of over thirty years, Kathy Welch Roberts; one son, Wayne Dale Roberts, Jr. and his fiancé Jayme both of Clover, SC; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Dixie Roberts of Chester, SC; five grandchildren, Jayden, Kayleb, Payton, Justin and Jayleigh and one brother Lonnie W.
