Chester: Mr. Wayne Lee Nation, 80, of Chester died Monday, April 13, 2009 at Chester Regional Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Pruitt officiating.Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Born July 29, 1928 in Fayette County, GA,Mr. Nation was the son of the late George Washington Nation and Jewel Whatley Nation.He was a graduate of Hartsell High School of Concord, NC and attended Wingate College and Catholic Presbyterian Church.He was retired from Sequa Chemicals Textile Division and was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Bigham Nation; two sons, Michael L. Nation and his wife Pam of Spartanburg, SC and Wayne Jordan and his wife Lynn of Mooresville, NC; two daughters, Ann Nation Flynn of Glendale, SC and Charlene Jordan Diefenderfer and her husband Lance of Tega Cay, SC; seven grandchildren, Carmen Rankin, Adam Nation and Ben Nation of Spartanburg, SC, Megan Flynn of Charleston, SC; Victoria Jordan and Haley Jordan of Mooresville, NC and Samuel Smith of Tega Cay, SC and one brother, Robert F. Nation of Hershey, PA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester.
