Walter Holmes Stephenson

Chester Walter Holmes Stephenson III, 75, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at his home. A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, December 21, 2018, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the service for about ninety minutes. Mr. Stephenson was born October 05, 1943 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Walter Stephenson Jr. and Marie Hall Stephenson. He was a graduate of the schools of Chester County and was a retired Sergeant First Class with the U.S. Army. Mr. Stephenson attended First Baptist Church Lowry’s and was a member of the VFW. He loved his children and grandchildren, was a huge Carolina Gamecocks fan and enjoyed nascar. He is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Maureen O. Stephenson; one son, Walter Holmes Stephenson, IV of Lowry’s, SC; one daughter, Kelly- Marie Stephenson McMurray(Stanley) of Chester SC; threegrandchildren Reese , C.J. and Tim McMurray all of Chester SC; two brother, Francis H. Stephenson (Linda) and Henry L. Stephenson (Lynda) both of Chester, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; Mr. Stephenson was preceded in death by two brothers, James W. Stephenson and Marion W.
