Wallace Raphel Moore

May 23, 1923 — December 25, 2015

Wallace Raphel Moore (Mike) Mike passed into a better life on Christmas Day. He was born in Chester, SC the eldest son of the seven children of Lloyd Gerald Moore Sr and Marie Wood Moore who preceded him in death. With the outbreak of WWII, Mike joined the Coast Guard and served in the South Pacific area especially around the Philippines. After the war, he returned to Chester and worked in the Springsteen Plant of Springs Mills and for Duke Energy in the Belmont area. After retirement, he returned to live on the family farm and spending many enjoyable days caring for the land and planting pine trees. Most recently, he has been a resident of White Oak Manor in Rock Hill. Preceding him in death were his parents, and sister Marjorie Moore Sherrill, brother Harold Moore, and brother Martin Moore. Surviving are sister Clara Moore Hare, brother Lloyd Moore Jr, (Patsy) and brother Glenn Moore (Barbara) along with many nieces and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held Monday December 28, 2015 at 11:00am at Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, SC conducted by Rev. Rick Wheeler, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where Mike was a long time member In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church or the charity of choice.
