Wade Gaston Stroud

Mr. Wade Gaston Stroud, 79, of Chester died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Chester Regional Medical Center. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Stroud officiating.Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Born January 04, 1930 in Edgemoor, SC, Mr. Stroud was the son of the late Oscar Lee Stroud and Sarah Catherine Ramsey Stroud. He was a graduate of Lewisville High School and attended Clemson College.He was retired from the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War and Vietnam.He was commander of Disabled American Veterans and current Adjudant of DAV and VFW.He was a volunteer driver of the DAV & VFW Van and retired from the United States Postal Service. He is survived by his wife Hope Allen Stroud and one daughter Jenny S. Stroud of Edgemoor, SC.He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Bianca Hecker and his brother O.L. Stroud, Jr. The family will receive friends from 1:00 ? 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC.
