CHESTER?. Virginia Catherine Wheatley Cook, 85, died Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Autumn Care in Salisbury, N.C. She was the widow of James F. Cook. The funeral will be 11:00AM Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Joanne Lockhard- Hawkins officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Cook was born December 14, 1924 in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of the late William Reuben and Montie Shurburtt Wheatley. She was former owner of Virginia?s Childrens Shop and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters Taska C. Sterling and husband J.C. Salisbury N.C., Barbara Odom of Colorado, grandchildren Tonya Sterling Saunders and husband John, James C.(Jake) Sterling and wife Lana, Bobby Odom Jr. and wife Kris, and Brian Odom, three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons James F. Cook Jr. and William F. Cook. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00AM at Barron Funeral Home 133 Wylie Street Chester, SC, prior to the service.
