Virginia Roof "June" Cameron

Virginia Roof "June" Cameron, 95, died Wednesday January 28, 2026 at Piedmont Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends also Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Interment will be held in Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Cameron was born in Chester, SC on June 5, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Toy and Margaret McWaters Roof. She was retired from Springs Industries and after retirement earned her degree in care giving and went to work as a Home Health Nurse. She said that was the most fulfilling thing she ever did in life as she helped those that were sick and home bound

She is survived by two sons, Jerald Gaston (Lorie) and Larry "Ace" Gaston (Renee); three grandsons, Timmy and Jake (Jennifer) Gaston and Michael Gaston; four great grandchildren, Kaylie, Tyler, Peyton and Easton Gaston; and two great-great grandchildren, Everleigh June and Waylon Gaston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 63 years, Ross Cameron; one son, Charlie Gaston; two sisters, Betty and Grace; and two brothers, T.W. and Stinson Roof.
