Chester Mr. Vernon Edwin Sigmon, 71, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his home.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Brian Howard and Rev. Stan York officiating.Interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday , September 9, 2017 at the First Church of the Nazarene. Born April 7, 1946 in Mt. Holly, NC, Mr. Sigmon was a son of the late Hollis Vernon Sigmon and Pauline Painter Sigmon.He was a 1964 graduate of Mt. Holly High School, Mt. Holly, NC and a 1997graduate of Southeastern College, Lakeland, FL.Mr. Sigmon was a 1966 to 1970 veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served during Vietnam and a retired Parent Educator from Chester County School District.He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where he taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a Lay Speaker. Mr. Sigmon is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Carolyn Waters Sigmon; two children, Anthony “Tony” Vernon Sigmon (Denise) of Chester, SCand Danielle Elaine Sigmon Boyette (Bruce) of Chester, SC; four grandchildren, Chasity Sigmon Inman (Will) of Charleston, SC, Sierra Boyette of Irving, TX, Cheyenne Boyette of Irving, TX and Camden Sigmon of Matthews, NC; one brother, Rev. Donald Sigmon (Ann) of Hamptonville, NC; and one sister, Linda Sigmon Queen (Rev. Larry) of Newton, NC.He was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Sigmon Rick.
