Chester Mr. Tommy Gene Melton, 72, died Sunday, November 20, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Skeet Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Wilksburg Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home. He was born August 29, 1950 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late John M. Melton and Sadie Gaston Melton. He was a graduate of Chester High School, attended York Tech and was retired from Bilo as Produce Manager. Mr. Melton was a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church. He is survived by one son Scott Melton (Selissa) of Chester, SC; three grandchildren, Katie Pitts (Brandon) of Clinton, SC, Loren Melton of Easley, SC and Mason Melton of Chester, SC; one great-grandson, Baker Miller of Clinton, SC; two brothers, Richard Melton (Crystal) of Chester, SC and Lonnie Melton of Chester, SC; one sister, Laura Rist of Chester, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Paula Adrene Dodds Melton and a brother Robert Melton.
