Timothy Hope Grant

Timothy Hope Grant, 63, of Chester, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.

Tim was born February 2, 1962 and was the son of the late Gerald Hope Grant and Nell Rose Leggett Grant.  He was raised in West Chester and spent his entire life in the community he loved. A true country soul, Tim found joy in farming, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He especially loved planting, tending his garden, and sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Hope Grant Jr. and Jackie Leggett Grant.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Cummings Grant; his son, James Ray Grant (Lexie) of Chester; his daughter, Martha Grant Hamrick (Jake) of Boiling Springs, NC; his beloved granddaughter, Lillian Hope Grant; and his brother, Mark Randall Grant of Chester.

Tim will be remembered for his kind heart, hardworking spirit, and the love he had for his family and the land he called home.

A graveside service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 760 Calvary Church Road, Chester, SC, on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to New Hope Methodist Church of Chester, P.O. Box 94, Chester, SC 29706, designated to Children’s Attention Home or to the Children and Youth Group at West Chester Baptist Church, 1898 Pinckney Road, Chester, SC 29706.
