Richburg Thomas Yost Weaver, 79, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 20, 2014, at Union ARP Church in Richburg with Rev. Dr. James Knox and Mr. Barry Dodson officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, June 19, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Tom was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on April 28, 1935 and was a son of the late C.I. and Ruth Weaver.He grew up working on the family farm and continued to have a life-long love of antique farming equipment and preserving the small family farm heritage.He attended Lewisville High School.He and his wife, Betty, have owned and operated NIP Trucking, Inc. for many years.Tom was a devoted member and past Master of the Richburg Masonic Lodge #89.He founded and produced the Days of Old Antique Engine and Tractor Show which highlighted the heritage of farming with the proceeds benefitting the Richburg Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Peay Weaver; two daughters, Kathy Rishebarger and husband Scott and Susan Mooring and husband Lee both of Richburg; four grandchildren, Ian Thomas Smith and wife Stephanie of Charleston, Avianna Rishebarger and Kate Rishebarger of Richburg, and John Corey Coker of Chester; two great-grandchildren, Thomas Ian Smith and Mache Smith of Charleston; two brothers, John Weaver of Chester and George Weaver of Campabello; two sisters, Esther Lanning of Cincinnati, Ohio and Gladys Ferguson of Concord, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Tom’s greatest love was his family and he was never happier than when the whole family was around and enjoying their time together.He loved his community and never met a stranger; he was always willing to help a friend or neighbor and he will be missed by the many friends and family that his life touched.
