Thomas Wesley Carter

Mr. Thomas Wesley Carter, 75, died Monday, May 26, 2025 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 31, 2025 at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Meares and Rev. Mike Burgess officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.

Mr. Carter was born July 20, 1949 in Chester, SC and was the son of the late Jessie Herman Carter, Sr. and Madeline Thomas Carter. He was a graduate of Chester High School and Clemson University. He was owner operator of Carter's Landscaping and Design. Wesley also taught agriculture  education with the York and Chester County School District and was a member of SCANG. He was dedicated to his career and loved his cows. He was also active in the men's breakfast club at  Armenia Methodist Church were he was a member and was former chairman of church council and served on numerous  committees.

He is survived by his wife of over 39 years, Jean Young Carter; one son Thomas Wesley "Wes" Carter, Jr. of Chester, SC; one granddaughter, Ada McCarley Carter of Little Mountain, SC; one nephew Dennis Carter of Georgia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Herman Carter, Jr.

The family wishes to offer a "Heartfelt Thank You" to Wesley's caregivers, Barbara Campbell, Kiesha Jones, Tamara Johnson and his nurses and aids with Agape Hospice.
