Mr. Thomas Robbins Porter, 66, died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at his home.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Wingate officiating.Interment will be private. Mr. Porter was born October 8, 1944 in Chester County and was a son of the late Horace Porter and Edna Robbins Porter.He attended the schools of Chester County and York Technical College.He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Chester Co. Natural Gas Authority.Mr. Porter was a past Master of the Sandy River Masonic Lodge #207 and a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Sallie Varnadore Porter; one daughter, Gena Marie Porter of Lockhart; three brothers, Horace Porter and his wife Betty of Chester, Sonny Porter of Chester, and Eddie Porter and his wife, Angie of Lockhart; four sisters, Lillie Dane Carter, Joanne Gibson and her husband Bill, Elaine Youngblood, and Carolyn Belue and her husband Johnny; and one grandson, Jackson Scott Jones.He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony J. Porter and six sisters, Louise Lathan, Sara Frances Clark, Irene Mothershed, Margaret McSwain, Ann Gilfillian, and Jane Childres. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital, 950 W.
