CHESTER Mr. Thomas C. ?Tom? Layton, 56, of Chester, SC diedMonday, October 27, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery with Reverend Clay Waldrip officiating. Born February 18, 1952 in Chester, SC, Mr. Layton was a son of the late Thomas Harold and Evelyn Colvin Layton.He was a graduate of Chester High School and The University of South Carolina.He was a former insurance agent with Kanawha Insurance Company and former assistant manager of Carolina Tire.He was employed with Mutual of Omaha as an insurance agent.He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and attended First Baptist Church of Chester. Surviving are his brother Mike Layton and his wife Debi of Chester, SC and one nephew Bert Layton of Chester, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 7:30 p.m Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC 29706.
