Thomas Grier Hudson

Chester, SC: Mr. Thomas Grier Hudson, 88, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Reverend Allen Wolfe officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside and other times at the home of his sister, Joyce Thompson, 564 Penn Lake Road, Chester, SC 29706. Mr. Hudson was born September 12, 1924 in Chester, SC. He was a son of the late James Lynn Hudson and Ida Grant Hudson. He attended the schools of Chester County and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII in Normandy. Mr. Hudson was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was retired form Chester Telephone Company after over sixty-five years of service. Grier was an avid golfer and a fan of those Clemson Tigers. He is survived by a brother, Harold L. Hudson and one sister, Joyce H. Thompson (Carrol) all of Chester, SC; three nephews, Lynn Hudson of Ridgeway, SC, Grier Thompson (Lynne) of Greenville, SC and Jim Thompson (Shannon) of Blythewood, SC; two great-nephews, Aaron Thompson (Mandy) and Chandler Thompson all of Greenville, SC and a great-niece Sarah Grier Thompson of Chester, SC and his special friend Carol Alexander of Chester, SC.
